GDI Modular Weapon System Series 2 (G-OICW, ICS)

As sciences improved, so did the application of those sciences, and nothing is more overt about the application of the sciences than weapon systems like the Modular Weapon System family. The second illiteration of the weapons were made afer the 1st GDI-Shino Border Conflict in the early 22nd century and the unexpected discovery that the MWS family had lost it's edge. The second illiteration, known as Series 2, was mostly a general upgrade of the original -now called 'Series 1'- family of MWS weapons... except for the kinetic component. With the minaturization of coilgun technology to the small-arms level, powder-based weapons became obsolete overnight.

The kinetic portion of the weapon is the same assault rifle 10x42mm metalic darts as it's standard assault rifle cousin.

The OICW portion of the weapon is an improved variant of the 50mm Metal Grenade Storm system with all that it entails.

Thanks to it's modular nature, this weapon can adapt to the user somewhat. This is shown with the combi-foregrip and the Intelligent Combat Scope -which uses electronics in the OICW portion of the weapon to maximize the smart grenades.
